Anyway i did not like it, too masculine, the feminine touch was definitely missing, normally i just do what i think looks better, but as i never had met the bride I was not sure if she would like any changes

These ganache iced cakes are the most economic cakes for any occasion, even though they are simple once dressed up with sugar or fresh flowers they look just as amazing

The sugar tulips are made for chocolate fondant as they were indented to be eaten , i love to work with chocolate fondant for flowers and cake icing, mainly because it delicious to eat and get quickly hart but still stays a little flexible and therefore does not break as easily as gum paste

this is my first sugar flower tutorial i should have taken more step by step photos i realize just now
I try to describe as best as i can
I used chocolate fondant with a bit of CMC as they are for eating
1. make pistil and stick in 6 stamens
you could use artificial ones but i
made them myself with ricevermicelli
dipped in eggwhite and then in
polenta , as this flower will be eaten
i did not want to use anything not edible

2. cut out oval shapes i used an orchid cutter but any oval shape will

be good

3. with a ball tool frill the oval shapes on the edges and thin them out so that they shape into a half egg shape dry them a little on a teaspoon

4. paint a little eggwhite on the bottom edge of each petal before you wrap the first 3 inner petals around the pistil and leave it to dry a little then wrap the 3outer petals
5. leave them to dry in any usable cup or whatever you have, i used candle holders, egg cartons are also good

and here you go the finished product
i need them for this weekends wedding

I had so much fun making this light house cake
The bottom layers were chocolate mud cake and jaffa cake and the top layers orange almond cake
I used chocolate fondant icing and an electric tea light to lighten up the glass on the top
I used a normal drinking glass as light house top so the whole top with the couple could be taken off and kept as a keepsake
Around the bottom i put profiteroles resembling " rocks" and studded them with chocolate shells

this was the part that could be taken off for keeping

the top one was a tiramisu cake with coffee liquer soaked sponge cake and light ricotta custard cream filling

Ross and Amanda wanted the wedding cake to be eaten at an Afternoon Tea. I brought the cake to the Banana shed at the grounds of the old Pomona Railway station. The Ladies had the rustic little house decorated with lace tablecloth, birdcages and cute little teacups in all shapes and sizes which were to be used for the afternoon tea. I placed the cake in the middle of the room surrounded by some of the teacups. It was the perfect setting with a real vintage feel on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon

When I set up the little suitcases at Maleny Manor I was amazed how much thought Elley and James had put into organizing their wedding
Each table had a small book with photos from both of them, each chair had a place card looking like a suitcase tag and in the corner where some suitcases piled on top of each other.
Everyone who was there helping to decorate the room just loved the cake with the little handles and locks and engraved initials on each one.
I had a great time making it even though at times I thought I would never finish it in time.
The couple on the top I made from clay so it could be a keepsake.

I almost got a heart attack when Vanessa requested a Black Cake for her Wedding
No matter how much i tried to convince her otherwise
she would not change her mind

I mixed the shopbought Black Sugaricing with my homemade dark chocolate icing to improve the taste
of the icing and gave her a sample to make sure she knows what it will look like.

In the end with all the silver , white and red decoration

My husband and I were guests at Mindy and Manuel's wedding and what a wedding it was, Mindy and Manuel are from Bolivian / Peruvian families and they sure know how to party.
The lace decoration on the cake matched the beautiful dress Mindy was wearing and the yellow chocolate dough icing matched the bridesmaid dresses.

I have made Emily's wedding cake a few years ago and also her 2 other daughters christening cakes. Even though Skye Annabelle is a little girl I could not think of any better color to represent her name then blue. In this case the baby in the rose pedals in actually a baby on the clouds.

Lindsie found a photo of a cake similar then this on the internet and wanted to have it for her wedding, I love a challenge and am really happy how this cake turned out.

It is a 4 tiered white chocolate mud cake with raspberry cream layers shaped into a tower and covered with white chocolate ganache.
Each rose pedal is made from chocolate dough, shaped individually and left to dry before its"glued " on the cake with more chocolate ganache.
